About Mortal Half and the Author
Story SynopsisSet in the mythical world of Tienne Earth, Mortal Half is a fantasy webcomic about the trials and tribulations of a mysterious young woman named Mirra, the bearer of a cursed blade, and the unique individuals she meets throughout the course of her adventures (yes, I am very traditional). Expect a mix of action, comedy and romance if you decide to give my comic a go!

ArtworkThe first few chapters are kind of rough, even after multiple edits. For several years I lost interest, so it was a bit of a struggle getting back on track. Personally, I feel the artwork starts getting much better past Chapter 2. Mortal Half is kind of a learning process for me, so don't be surprised if the artwork varies from time to time!
WritingThe text/dialogue, particularly in the earlier chapters, is constantly being edited, rephrased and reworked as I see fit. Initially whenever I tried to write it felt as though my brains were trawling through sludge (the effect of too many years of lolspeak, no doubt). Fortunately, writing comes far more naturally to me now than it used to. I'm looking forward to the day I can finally stop trolling myself.
Comic HistoryOriginally titled A Legend of Jeie (go ahead and laugh), Mortal Half is based on an idea that was conceived, MANY moons ago, when I was a wee student. Over the years it has gone through numerous plot and character name changes, though the main characters themselves have stayed roughly the same since 1998...ish. I developed the original concept for ALOJ when I was about 17, not long after I started to "draw manga seriously" (quotation marks fully intended). The "retro" version of Mortal Half was hosted on a online manga site that was fairly popular at the time, but for the life of me I can't remember what it was called. Around page 30 I gave up because I felt nothing about it was up to scratch (I was a rather self-deprecating teenager). I then decided to novelize the story instead, and till today there exists a ludicrously written version of ALOJ, based on drafts and ideas that were
Fast forward about a decade or so, and I'm now working to turn Mortal Half back into a webcomic, which is the format it was originally intended for. As of now the first two volumes are complete, with much more to come in the near future.
About MeI'm originally from Singapore. I graduated from a local design school in 2002(I think), after which I spent several years jet-setting about the globe in search of inspiration , as well as playing far, far too much World of Warcraft. When I was 26 I quit my job as a flight attendant to study hospitality in the good old U.S of A. I have since graduated, and am the proud owner of a somewhat redundant Associates Degree in Foodservice Management... I think that sheet of paper's still lying around here somewhere.
Currently I live in Rochester, New York, with my smelly husband and equally smelly dog. I work from home, so feel free to drop me a line anytime. You can also check out my Tumblr if you wish to know more about me.
Oh, and in case you couldn't tell from the pic, I'm actually a GIANT NERD in RL.
